Oriel

Your notch has a lot more to say.

Oriel turns the notch on your MacBook into a little window: what's playing, your week ahead and your AirPods, right where you already look.

A quick tour

Everything comes to the notch.

Apple Music, Spotify, your calendar and your AirPods all land in one place.

Playing · resting

Rests around the notch

Album art on one side, live bars on the other, tinted with the album's colour. Apple Music, Spotify, podcasts, YouTube: anything that plays.

Next song · peek

New song? It drops in.

When the track changes, the title slides down from the notch for a moment, then tucks back in.

Hover · open

Rest your pointer to open it

Big artwork, a progress bar you can drag, play and skip, where the sound is going, and your week on the right. Click the album or any artist to jump to them.

Save · without switching apps

Like it? Keep it.

Click + and the song goes to your Favourites in Apple Music. A small menu lets you drop it into playlists right there, the ones you used last first. Spotify works too with an optional login.

AirPods · connected

AirPods, the iPhone way

Connected with battery, and Moved to iPhone with its Undo button, come out of the island in Apple's own design instead of the corner of the screen.

Calendar · week ahead

Your week, one glance away

With nothing playing, the island is your calendar: today and the next six days with Apple-style dots, from iCloud, Google or any calendar on your Mac.

Busy menu bar · glow

Never in the way

Apps with lots of menus need the room next to the notch. The island tucks in and glows in the album's colour, so you know it's still there.

And the small things

Pick your speakers

Switch between your Mac's speakers, AirPods and other outputs, and change the volume, from the island.

Knows where it's playing

Playing on your phone or TV? The bars hold still, like on iPhone. With the optional Spotify login, one click moves it back to your Mac.

Stays put

Swipe between desktops and full-screen apps and the island doesn't move. Clicking it never steals your typing.

Light on battery

Animations run on the graphics chip and Oriel rests when you're not near the notch. Around 1% CPU while music plays.

Updates itself

New versions show up inside the app with what changed. One click and you're on the latest.

Leaves no trace

Uninstall from Settings removes its permissions and data too. Everything stays on your Mac while you use it.

Free.
No catch.

No account, no ads, no tracking. If Oriel earns its spot on your Mac, a coffee keeps the updates coming.
